When Greg Kessler was asked by Bela Fleck of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones to travel with them so he could create a photo book about their tour, he realized he had come a long way from his first big break of shooting an album cover for Warner Brothers Records when he was a sophomore at Syracuse University. Since that first assignment, this rock and roll photographer has published images in the New York Times, American Photo, Rolling Stone, Jazziz Magazine, JazzTimes Magazine and Relix.
Like so many working shooters, Greg has made the switch to digital. He currently uses Nikon D100s. "I try not to get too obsessed with the latest digital technologies and understand they are only the tools to make images." Greg says, "I truly believe it matters a lot more who is behind the camera than what you put in front of your eye." That being said, he appreciates how the digital workflow fits well with his style of photography. You can see more of Greg Kessler’s work at http://www.gregkessler.com.
